Street Photography in Calcutta
Over the years I have attended lots and lots of photography training.
Going to Calcutta to learn street photography whilst donating money to the Hope Foundation who are amazing and took us to all the places where they help the street and slum children of Calcutta was something I will never forget.
Here are just a few favourite images from the ten days I spent meeting so many lovely people.
We are so lucky.
In Calcutta I see these poor children working in the smelliest dumps with flip flops on. There was dead dogs amongst the rubbish and pigs walking around. The smell was indescribable.
The little girl below is also the girl working on the truck on the dump. She would have been the same age as my daughter.
The children where all so full of smiles and seemed happy despite everything.
The Hope Foundation who we travelled around with sometimes provide hospital, work, schooling and other services accessible to some the families that live in the slums of Calcutta.
I will never forget this trip and am proud to say that my friend Mark who takes photographers to Calcutta donates all the money that the photographers pay him for his training to the Hope Foundation each time.
