Twenty four years loving being a mum and a photographer

Today is my first born's 24th birthday. We had a beautiful, simple BBQ yesterday with just four of us in the garden to celebrate the truly amazing lady that she has become.

This marks 24 years of me being a mum & and a photographer.

Being a young mum was the best thing that happened to me as I became a parent and it hit me at Shannon's newborn shoot that I wanted to be a photographer not to continue to work in insurance as I had been.

The photographer at the studio did not like that the digital era was arriving so he sold me the whole contents of his studio including his medium format hasselblad and he shut his long term studio down.

A decade later Shannon got a sister and another decade later I got my very own studio.

So today I celebrate who my daughter has become and being very lucky to be a mum & a photographer for 24 years.
