Pregnancy and newborn Photographer based in Reading - How to take pregnancy photos in your home

A little about me

I am a portrait photographer who loves pregnancy, newborn, family and business branding photography.

It was so important for me to capture my own pregnancies and family and this led her to me launching my own business over two decades ago. I have now photographed hundreds of people on location and at my studio in picturesque Purley on Thames in the heart of Berkshire.

I love experimenting with different genres of photography such as nature, sport and street photography in my spare time.

My skills are capturing the best side of my clients. With my unique style in photography I produce photos that embody exactly what my clients want, whether it’s the beauty of pregnancy, or the success of a small business.

Here is my pregnancy portfoilo and see here for more luxury pregnancy photo shoots.

When should I book my pregnancy shoot?

It is a good idea to book your bump session is as early as possible as a good photographer will take limited bookings every week to allow for births that are unpredictable and the best time to capture your bump is between 28 and 34 weeks, as your bump will be nice and round and you you will still be able to move around freely.

What should I wear for my maternity shoot?

Choose one or two outfits ahead of the shoot.  A casual and a dressy outfit is perfect,

A long dress or top that is tight up the top meaning tight around the belly which allows a flattering silhouette is ideal.

Where is the best place to have a maternity photo shoot?

You can decide the vibe - Mother Earth goddess on the beach or amongst beautiful trees & nature in the open countryside;  or you may want a relaxed & comfortable cosy indoor setting or maybe in the studio. Imagine creating the photos you have always dreamed of, to be truly cherished.

Behind the scenes

How I work?

Every pregnant woman is beautiful and a pregnancy session is incredibly important to document this special time in your life.

A maternity shoot is a confidence building experience and will leave you feeling radiant and beautiful.

Unsure how to pose? do not think about this, that is the photographer’s job!

I love to make my clients feel confident and relaxed during their maternity photography session and will give relaxed direction whilst using the best lighting to compliment your bump. Using my experience from my own pregnancies I remember just how you feel & am dedicated in providing an experience that is calm & happy resulting in timeless & natural images of yourself.

I hope to offer every pregnant lady the chance to experience a maternity photo session to celebrate this important and amazing time in her life. It is my goal to ensure mums feel beautiful and dads-to-be feel relaxed and forget they are being photographed & even have a laugh during the session.

When should I book my newborn shoot?

The newborn stage is not here for very long. The best time to capture this precious stage in your babies life is ideally before baby reaches 14 days old.

I have documented 5-6 week old babies and still been able to capture those newborn portraits.

I provide a relaxing experience as you visit my tranquil studio in Purley on Thames.

You can relax, put your feet up, feel proud of your baby and have a cup of tea and enjoy some much needed and well earned rest whilst watching me photograph your brand new baby.  You will receive images to cherish forever.
