Making choices based on what brings me joy

All over the world we are united in experiencing one hell of a year.

I really hope we all can take some positives from this year.  It will certainly be remembered and studied in history classes and books for many, many years to come.

My positive is that I have spent a lot of time over the past two years asking myself what direction my business is going in and at times have niched to a particular style of photography & now I have answered my question.

After lots of soul searching, building self belief, meditating on my questions rather than looking towards others for answers & following deep conversations with soul led ladies I have learnt that my niche is photographing people and a little nature too.

My joy comes from recording life, love, tears, joy, celebrations, connection and growth.

I am a people photographer I love to make people feel confident, proud and happy.

I love to capture the joys of a new life (pregnancy), the joy of capturing someone's other baby (their business), documenting the story (newborn, a new venture or adventure), the growth (baby's first year, cake smash, a rebranded business), christmas portraits, pets, a 60th birthday make over session, a location shoot for all the generations to come out on and then they make a day of it as they stay out after the shoot or go off for coffee or lunch as a family, capturing cousins as a surprise for grandparents, capturing a bare belly in the studio for a pregnancy shoot or going on luxury location shoot with a pregnant lady or couple which includes a hair stylist and make up artist, lovely food and beautiful products included in the collection.  Someone's hobby.  Maybe even the odd weekday wedding too and the odd retreat too :-)

I have also been known to bring out the photo booth for events, make albums, create portraits with digital images and to even retake school portraits.

Yes I love to document life, joy and what matters most to people.  I am also comfortable documenting any aspect of life as I have always enjoyed documentary and street photography.

So one good thing that has come out of this year is I know now what is right for me and my business as every aspect of life counts and is precious.  If I can photograph what is part of someone's legacy and what will bring joy, comfort, laughter or proud feelings then I am making a huge difference & if I can inspire others to do what is right for them and not what they should do then we are all doing well.

I am ready to use all the training, photography experience that I have gained in over two decades of photography to give confidence and help people look radiant in their portraits.
